Sunshine Riding Trails

The Herd:

All of our horses are very motivated by treats so feel free to bring carrots, apples, watermelon, or peppermints!

Kathy: Trailmaster/Owner on Gigi

Kathy has over 30 years of horse back riding and training experience. She has always been passionate about horses and loves to share her passion with others.

"Crockett":  Trailmaster on Belle

Kathy's brother who also loves horses. You'll have a great time with this fun guy!

Gigi:

Relatively new to the herd. She has become a great riding horse that likes to go fast. She is one of the sweetest girls and will lick you head to toe if you let her!

Belle (on the right) with her daughter, Josephine.

These two came to us together when Josephine was just a few days old (back when she was still black!) Both these ladies where born black and slowly turned white.

Belle is a very easy going horse and is one of the favorites here.

Josephine (a horse of a different color) seen here being silly. She just started her training and at the rate she is learning, she will be joining us on trail rides very soon!

This is Miss Penelope, also known as My Shiny Penny and more recently Black-Eyed Penny, or just Penny for short.

Penny is also the daughter of Belle. She may not have gotten her coat color but she sure did inherit Belle's excellent, easy going disposition. Penny is about half way through her training and will be out on the trail in no time!

Savannah (left) and her son Starlite (right).

Savannah has been with us the longest, over 16 years! She is a sweetheart who will rest her head and go to sleep on your shoulder.

Starlite was the only baby born on the property! Not much of a baby anymore, he is the tallest horse we have. This guy is a licker and will beg for treats!

Ebony came to us with her daughter Cocoa. Here she is hiding behind a tree. She used to be extremely shy but with lots of love and carrots, she has become a really sweet girl.

Ebony is one of the smoothest and fastest gaiting horses we have. She's like gliding on air!

Cocoa (daughter of Ebony) is a very smart horse, which often times gets her into trouble. She frequently rearranges things in the yard and likes to chase chickens. At least twice, she has been caught with a feed bag stuck on her head. She LOVES attention and really dislikes being left alone.

Cocoa is fiesty with lots of personality and spunk!

Penguin is a very playful guy! He has a sweet tooth and enjoys peppermints, tic tacs, and pretty much anything sweet, so don't dare come within arm's reach if you have a strawberry slushie!

Thunder was mistreated by her previous owner and as a result was very distrusting of humans. She has since become a fantastic trail horse who definitely has regained her faith in the human race one carrot at a time.

Sugar Foot is our schmoozer! He gets along with everyone. He is a handsome boy and he knows it! He is great with kids and adults and likes to go fast if you let him.

Gidget is almost finished with her training. She is a sweet girl and God wanted everyone to know it because He put a big upside down heart on her left side! See it?!

We joke and say she is half cow, half Tennessee Walker because as far as we can tell, she isn't gaited. So, if you like riding cows or Quarter Horses or you just like to bounce, she is the one to ride!

Mr. Ed is a miniature horse and is mostly a lawn ornament. He does NOT go out on the trail but he is available for birthday parties and riding lessons for small children. Mr. Ed LOVES small children! We think he enjoys people his own size.
